What Can You Make With Chicken & Spaghetti Sauce?thumbnail Chicken Parmesan is a classic. Chicken may be the most versatile staple you keep in your freezer. Pair it with spaghetti sauce and your choices are limited only by your imagination. You could build a terrific Chicken Parmesan. The steps are quick and easy, particularly if you are using a bottled sauce. If you use chicken cutlets, which are thin, you can have a main dish in as little as 30 minutes from start to finish.

If you have the time to prepare a sauce from scratch, you will not only create a fresh and delicious sauce but you will gain great satisfaction is being able to say, "I made it myself." There is nothing wrong, however, with using a bottled sauce and, in fact, the varieties available make it very appealing, particularly for time-strapped cooks. You also have the option of adding your own ingredients to a bottled sauce to make it your own.

Boneless chicken breasts or chicken cutlets should be used since this dish tends to be too wet to have to deal with bones. if you are using a bottled spaghetti sauce, any variety, you may add mushrooms, onion and garlic. If you are making your own sauce, use crushed tomatoes, diced celery, diced onion, chopped garlic, basil and oregano. This makes a basic spaghetti sauce. You will also need mozzarella, either shredded or sliced and, of course, grated Parmesan cheese.

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Saute your cutlets in olive oil until brown on both sides. If using chicken breasts, pound to flatten to make your own cutlet and brown. Put into a casserole dish or large over-proof skillet. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and around the sides. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese (or lay slices) over the top, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake until the cheese melts, about five minutes. Serve over a bed of spaghetti.

Children love chicken tenders. Why not fry some up and put spaghetti sauce on the side for a dipping sauce? Try breading chicken that has been cubed, brown until the coating is crisp and add directly to your spaghetti sauce. Adding a chicken cutlet to eggplant Parmesan is a good way to satisfy the meat lover in the family. How about making a chicken pizza using packaged pizza crust, spaghetti sauce, chopped chicken and cheese. Mangia Italiano!
