How to Remove Smoked Brisket From Foil

Brisket is the cut of meat obtained from the breast area of both veal and beef cattle. It is prepared in a number of ways, including broiling, smoking and grilling. Wrapping a slab of brisket with aluminum foil will not only seal in the meat's juices, it will also make for an easier cleanup. Unwrapping the foil pouch at the correct time and in the correct manner will save your fingers from burns, and create a juicer, more tender finished product.

Wrap the brisket loosely in an aluminum foil pouch. Check both ends of the pouch to ensure the meat is secure and that no juices or heat will escape.

2

Cook, bake, broil or roast your brisket as desired.

3

Remove the brisket from the oven, smoker or grill with oven mitts or tongs.

4

Undo a small portion of either side of the aluminum foil to allow some of the heat to escape the pouch.

5

Rewrap the foil and place the brisket into a cooled oven for 30 minutes. This will allow the meat to settle and absorb some of the remaining juices.

6

Remove the wrapped brisket from the oven and set it onto a shallow baking pan. Unwrap both ends of the foil and carefully lift the brisket and set it onto a platter to be cut and served.
