How to Cook With Peach Cider

How to Cook With Peach Ciderthumbnail Peach cider has a sweet, summery flavor. Peach cider is a fruit drink made from pressed peaches that don't make it to the produce table. While these peaches may have a few bruises and not be the prettiest fruits on the table, they are still loaded with sweetness. According to "The Innovator," a publication by Rutgers University, farmer's markets send thousands of pounds of peaches to cider producers for peach cider production. Add a subtle fruity flavor to your favorite desserts and dishes by using peach cider in your favorite recipes.

Substitute the water in your dessert recipes with peach cider.

Saute meats like boneless chicken in peach cider instead of peach preserves, for four to five minutes on each side. This will give meat a sweet, juicy flavor.

3

Pour peach cider in a saucepan along with 1 tsp. of crushed ginger, 2 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice, 4 crushed garlic cloves and 1 cup of brown sugar. Heat the ingredients together on a low/medium heat, until the sugar melts. This makes a nice glaze for ham.

Use peach cider whenever a recipe calls for nectar or vinegar.
